Content is king, but does anyone want to consume it?
Everyone wants to put out more content, but does anyone actually want to consume more content?
It's very easy to get the impression these days that the best thing you can do for your personal benefit online, is post content to build a following.
It's easy to fall into the trap of pushing out volume for growth-at-scale (which also usually means low effort content) in this idea.
Personally, I try to behave by the Golden Rule online as well as in person. I don't want a ton of garbage shoved down my eyeballs, so why would I put out a ton of it myself? I don't agree with being bombarded with advertising wherever I go, so why would I pay for ads to grow my channel/business/whatever?
There are more slow-paced/mindful creators out there for sure. You just have to fight the platform's incentive to keep you on as long as possible to find them and not get sucked into an endless scroll void.
